Emotion is vital to a good story. Characters are flat without realistic, dynamic emotion and the story will not hook a reader. While emotion has been covered on this blog in earlier blog entries, new information is always helpful to writers. A notable thought about emotions is that they are not pure responses, but are a complex blend of feelings and reactions with nuances and dimensions that come alive in a character's actions and thoughts.
